Today we all went to see Mr. Bean's Holiday. Choosing to attend the early matinee, we had the entire movie theater to ourselves, something we enjoyed immensely.
The movie is perfectly beautiful, and beautifully happy. The ending was perfectly wonderful, and in what is becoming more and more my usual fashion, I got a little teary-eyed with happiness.
What a wonderful thing to laugh out loud, dear reader.
You know what I mean?

I'm usually the one everyone's craning their necks around to be able to get a good "shush!-glare" in at...so it was nice to be able to have some unadulterated Bean-time.

Looks funny from the trailers. I doubt I'll see it until it's on video though. I never get to go to the movies.
Mr. Bean is so funny. I loved that show when it was on HBO.

Corky, isn't he just hilarious? I think that Mr. Bean would be a good teaching tool for reading non-verbal communication, don't you?

Neroli: The Twain quote could have been the origin of that, I'm not sure. But to me, he's saying that if you can learn to find the humor in any situation, no matter how dire, you can cope.
I know we frequently use the expression "rolling on the floor" to describe being overcome by extreme hilarity, but has anyone ever seen someone actually smitten that severely with a fit of the giggles?
I've seen the phenomenon occur once, more than 20 years ago. I was working for a small company, and I had written and printed out a page of sarcastic foolishness mocking some idiotic office policy. I showed my creation to a colleague, who doubled over and literally dropped to the floor and rolled there for about 20 seconds in convulsive laughter.
It was all I could do at that point to follow Twain's advice and find the humor in that situation, for I fully expected the next visitor to our work area to be the company president announcing our dismissal for displaying excess happiness. Thankfully, that didn't happen.
